If this is your first time looking for a wedding photographer, it can be a little overwhelming. Maybe you’ve picked up every bridal magazine you can get your hands on and made lists of every vendor you want to check out. The internet is a great resource and most wedding vendors will have a website to show off their services. With the internet comes some warnings, sometimes if it seems to good to be true….IT IS. I can only speak from a photographers point of view, the number of wedding photographs have tripled in the past couple years and so many of those photographs have little to no professional experience.
Do you really want to trust your wedding to someone who has only photographed a couple weddings? There are no “do over’s” in this business! You might find lists that tell you what to ask your potential wedding photographer, here is a list of what I think is important (in no particular order).
- How much experience does the photographer/studio have? At Perfect Image Photography, we have over 15 years of wedding photography experience.
- Does the photographer have recent samples of their work? At Perfect Image Photography, we have a studio you can visit with a complete selection of albums, wall portraits and videos of our recent work.
- Does the photographer only offer a disc of your images? It might be nice to get your digital negatives, but most of the time that’s just where your photos end up…on a disc…they never get printed. At Perfect Image Photography, we offer packages with custom albums to fit most budgets. Any image ordered is retouched by our digital artist and printed by our professional lab. We also offer the digital negatives.
- How much does it cost for wedding photography? This should NOT be the only reason to hire a wedding photographer. My favorite saying is “cheaper is not better“, this is so true in this business! While most couples are on a budget when it comes to their wedding, keep in mind that this is one aspect of your wedding that will last for many, many years. At Perfect Image Photography, our standard packages start at $2000.00. Custom packages are available to fit most budgets.
